I’ve travelled twice with Excel airlines to Skiathos. The first time I went we stopped off at Thessalonika to refuel, however, the second time we flew from Skiathos direct to Manchester without stopping to refuel. Skiathos is an exciting airport to land / take off at!!
mykonos is smaller than skiathos
i think that big planes can take off quickly at such runways by adding more flaps so they dont need to put less fuel which prevents them from arriving directly to their destination
Skiathos has a small runway and as such the aircraft take on little fuel for the takeoff. They stop at either Mkyonos or Thessaloniki airport to fill up with enough fuel to get back to the UK. I guess this maybe for safety although I know a few years ago First Choice or Air2000 as they were at the time flew direct from Skiathos to the UK without stopping.
Nice video, but why did a British airline fly a 757-200 from Skiathos to Mykonos?
